Have You Ever Wanted to See the North Pole? At This Exhibit, You Can Get Pretty Close
Take a journey from the North to the South poles in anticipation of the holiday season! No need for airfare – the fun comes to you during this year’s Ice Land exhibit. The annual exhibit opens this month at Moody Gardens in Galveston, just in time for the end-of-year holidays. Check it out Tuesday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m.
This year, Moody Gardens welcomes the CAA Ruijing Ice Carving Team, who will create a giant ice slide designed to take guests on a glacial journey. Encounter polar bears, penguins, humpback whales, snowy owls, walruses, and of course, reindeer – all hand-carved out of two million pounds of ice inside a 28,000 square foot insulated tent structure.
Shiver’s Ice Bar also returns to Ice Land this year to provide guests with ultra-cool holiday spirits. You won’t want to miss this bar made completely of ice! This year, the Shiver’s team has creatively transformed the bar into an igloo to fit the Pole-to-Pole theme.
The Ice Land team is led by chief ice and snow carving artist Mr. Qui Guanghui, who has received top honors in numerous international tournaments including the Harbin International Ice and Snow Carving and the Chinese National Ice Carving Competition. Take in his work when you head down to Galveston next Tuesday!
Be sure to catch the coolest holiday destination in the Southwest this month! Admission to Ice Land may be purchased online. All-inclusive tickets for all holiday attractions at Moody Gardens as well as exhibit-specific tickets are available.
